EVANS, GA - Rev. Robert S. "Bob" Geer, 88, died February 15, 2016. Born in Augusta, he was the son of the late Wm Fred and Ida F. Geer. He attended Houghton Grammar School, graduated from Richmond Academy. He received his BA from Baylor University, Waco, TX; Master of Divinity and Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX.

Rev. Geer was ordained to the ministry at First Baptist Church, Augusta. He was pastor of churches in Texas and Florida for 51 years of active ministry. He also served on missions in South and Central America as well as Moscow, Russia. Rev. Geer was a member of First Baptist Church, Augusta, and the Crusaders Sunday School class.

Rev. Geer was predeceased by his first wife of 41 years, Edith Roberta "Bobbie" Underwood of Amarillo, TX and by his second wife of 10 years Jeanne Satcher Cole of Augusta. He is also predeceased by his brother, Dr. William D. Geer of Birmingham, AL; sister, Mrs. Margaret Sledge of Arcadia, LA; and granddaughter, Meagan McBath of Hickory, NC.

He is survived by a son, R. Frederick Geer of Florida and daughter, Anne Geer (Doug) McBath of Hickory, NC, grandchildren: Paige McBath (Ben) Garris of California, MD and Ian McBath of Hickory, NC; brother H. Calvin (Anita) Geer of Augusta and ten nieces and nephews.

The family extends sincere appreciation to Brandon Wilde for the care and support of Rev. Geer.

A memorial service with be held in the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Rodger Murchison and Rev. Sharlande Sledge officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
