Augusta, GA – The Rev. Ronald T. Jackson, Sr., 81, went to meet his Lord and reunite with the late Mae Godowns Jackson, the wife he sorely missed, on Wednesday, June 10, 2015.

Brother Ron leaves behind one brother: Douglas Jackson of Clearwater, FL; four children: Rev. Terry Jackson and wife Kaye of Evans; daughters: Deborah Jackson of Clayton, NC, Rhonda Herndon and husband Ralph of Evans, Kitty Kupitz and husband Craig of Evans. He’ll also be terribly missed by nine grandchildren: Britt Jackson, Libby Ward, Bart Jackson, Katie Miles, Lauren Brown, Will Herndon, Heather Kupitz de Lara, Katelynn Kupitz, and Corey Kupitz; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Brother Ron earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management from Augusta College, and enjoyed a full career with Georgia Power Company. After taking an early retirement, he began a second career as a minister. He earned an associate’s degree in pastoral ministry from Fruitland Bible Institute, and a Master’s in Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. At the time of his death, he was a member of West Acres Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Terry Jackson officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Ways Baptist Church Cemetery in Stellaville, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions made to the Christian bilingual tutoring center established by Ariel and Heather Lara in Siguatepeque, Honduras: Silently Serving Ministries, 4115 Columbia Road, Suite 5-202, Martinez, GA, 30907.
