Mr. Rexford Sackett Wegener
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, May 24, 2011, Mr. Rexford Sackett Wegener, 87, husband of Beverly Joyce Wegener.
Mr. Wegener was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. He joined the Army as an amphibious engineer during World War II. He started at Evinrude Motors as a machinist then became a liason engineer. Mr. Wegener retired after 33 years at Evinrude Motors. He opened Mr. W’S Lowrey Piano and Organ Store in Columbia, SC and Augusta. Mr. Wegener then joined Risdon and O’Sullivan as operations manager. He retired in Augusta and became the president of the Hidden Lake Town Home Owners Association for 8 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0001, Wisconsin for 65 years. Mr. Wegener loved to spend time with his family.
Family members in addition to his wife include, daughters: Diana Perry (Robert), Judy McCollum (Gary, Vicki Law, son: Rex M. Wegener (Patience), grandchildren: Regan, Penny, Michael, Angela, Emily, Jacob, great-grandchildren: Amanda, Hannah, Ansley, Emma, Alexandria, niece: Christine Franken, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 5:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Roger Stone officiating.
