Augusta, GA – Mrs. Rheta Riley Eure, 83, entered into rest Sunday, August 15, 2021.

Rheta was a lifelong resident of Augusta, GA and member of Asbury United Methodist Church where she served as Sanctuary Steward and Treasurer for the Esther Circle of United Methodist Women. She collected, counted and sent 734,966 manufacturer coupons to the military overseas and received the Red Plate Award for this ministry. With over 30 years of civil service at Fort Gordon Rheta retired. Rheta loved to crochet and made blankets for the University Hospital Neonatal and Well Babies and for Presbyterian Nursing Homes. She was also a member of Project Linus.

Family members include her daughters: Karen Gray (Corey) and Denise Barnett (Kevin); sister: Carol D. Gay (Wayne); and stepdaughters: Renate Neeley and Sonjia Holden (William). She is preceded in death by her first husband, Abram Edwin Riley, second husband, James Marvin Eure, and parents, William and Elizabeth Davisson, stepdaughter, Liane Morris, and son-in-law, Cary Neeley.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Nelson, Rev. Thom Davies, and Rev. Alan Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 1305 Troupe St., Augusta, GA 30904.
