Evans, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, March 18, 2012, Mr. Richard Clark Chambers, 76, of Evans, GA

Mr. Chambers was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. He was a veteran of the US Army and Army Reserve. Mr. Chambers retired after 34 years of service from Ft. Gordon Civil Service as the Chief Deputy Director of the U.S. Army Signal School and was awarded honorary membership into the Light Brigade, founded by George Washington. He had been an accountant for 51 years and was currently the co-owner of Chambers Accounting and Tax Service. He was also a devoted member of The Sanctuary Church. Mr. Chambers was past president of the Georgia Accountant Association and served on the State Board of Accountancy, a charter member of the Martinez Jaycees, and was past president of the Aiken-Augusta Orchid Society.

He was a devoted husband to his wife, Mrs. Jeanne Chambers and devoted father to his daughter Anita Chambers of Santa Barbara, CA. Additionally, Mr. Chambers was loved by many friends and family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at The Sanctuary with Rev. Bryan Cockrell officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Deer, Mike Carroway, Larry Coulson, Chad Harpley, Freddie Harpley, Les Brown, Bill Oxner and Eddie Brown.
