Dick Collman
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, August 19, 2015, Ret. Lt. Col. Richard H. “Dick” Collman, Jr., 85, husband of the late Mrs. Evelyn F. Collman.
Dick spent 4 years in the Navy and 30 years in the Army. He enjoyed traveling and antiquing with his wife of 64 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and that was when he was happiest. He spent many hours doing crafts with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed helping others while volunteering at various schools and the Alzheimer’s unit. He came from a long family of Optometrists and he devoted himself to his community as one for 37 years. Most importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Family members include his daughter: Linda Collman Korn and husband Jack of Augusta, GA.; sons: Jeff Collman and wife Joy of Augusta,GA. Craig Collman of W. Virginia, Mark Collman and wife Tana of Alpharetta, GA., and Chris Collman and wife Michele of Augusta, GA.; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service with military honors on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park.
