Augusta, Ga - Richard Cree Kilpatrick, 80, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Kilpatrick was born in Augusta, GA to the late Dr. Charles McCord Kilpatrick and Martha Stelling Kilpatrick. He graduated from The Academy of Richmond County in 1955 and received his B.A. in Finance from the University of Georgia in 1959, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He married his high school sweetheart Barbara Duncan and moved to California where he served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. He was a Trustee for the Georgia Student Educational Fund and a founding member of The Augusta Bulldog Club. He was a financial advisor with A.J. Kilpatrick & Company and a lifelong member of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Augusta.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by his children Richard Cree Kilpatrick, Jr, Stella Kilpatrick Peters (Ron), and Thomas Duncan Kilpatrick (Trish); brother Andrew Jones Kilpatrick (Vera); sister in law Ann Kilpatrick. He was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Zachary McCord Kilpatrick. He also leaves six grandchildren, Margaret, Cole, Cree, Andrew, Christopher, and Sarah. His family gives special thanks to his caregivers, Erica, Mabel, Sandra and Zelma.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. George D. Muir officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 605 Reynold Street, Augusta, GA 30901 or a charity of your choice.
