Richmond "Rudy" Morris

Rudy Morris

Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest Friday, January 21, 2022, Mr. Richmond “Rudy” Brooks Morris, Jr., 77, loving husband of Maxine H. Morris.

This man who we call Rudy and papa is a treasure. Rudy was a God loving man who showed this to all he met. He had a kind soul who did anything and everything for his family.

We thank Papa for showing us what faith is. We learned a lot from Rudy. Rudy was a father to us and we fell in love with him on day one. We knew the day we met him, that we wanted he and our mama to be together. Rudy taught us so much about faith and love. Rudy taught us to take time to pray and to take time to listen to what God is saying. Never lose faith and never lose yourself. Rudy taught us a lot and we thank him for that.

Rudy loved his family very much. His loving wife Maxine, his three beautiful sisters Jackie, Billie, and Judy, his brother in laws Chuck and Max, his nieces and nephews, his children, his grandchildren, his church, his friends, and his amazing Alabama Roll Tide.

Rudy, we know you are in a better place. We just want you to know that you are loved and missed by so many people. There will never be anyone who will replace you. Your memory will go on always and forever. Your faith will go on always and forever. Your love will go on always and forever. Your Alabama Roll Tide will go on always and forever. We love you Rudy and Papa always and forever.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his children: Wendy Widener, the late Timothy Widener, Joey Young (Elizabeth), and Tammy Merlino (Kim); grandchildren: Dylan, Jaiden, Shyah, Hailey, and Ava Grace Widener; loving sisters: Jackie Grayson (Max), Billie White, and Judy Lake (Chuck); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
