Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, May 15, 2011, Mr. Robert Anton “Bob” Hudson, 68, husband of 45 years to Phyllis.
Mr. Hudson was born in Biddeford, Maine and lived in Augusta for the last 44 years. He received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University and an MBA from Georgia Southern. He retired after 27 years from Federal Paper Board. Mr. Hudson was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Terrance Cook Council 8495 and the Fourth Degree Assembly 174. Mr. Hudson was a mentor for the Georgia Transplant Foundation and a volunteer for Lifelink of Georgia. Most of all Bob cared about being a loving husband, father and grandfather. His “hobby” was his grandchildren.
Family members in addition to his wife include daughters, Helen Smith and husband Kenny, Kathleen Pate and husband Matthew, Teresa Doenges and husband Jim, and grandchildren Kenneth, Nathan, and Sarah Kate Smith. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters.
He generously donated his body to medical science. Memorials may be made to the Georgia Transplant Foundation www.gatransplant.org or to the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church Building Fund, 4921 Columbia Road, Grovetown, GA 30813.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Roverse officiating.
A Vigil Service will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. and the family will receive friends until 8:00 P.M. at
