Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, August 22, 2011, Mr. Robert “Bob” Gene Grant, 79, husband of Suzanne Daly Grant.
Mr. Grant was a native of Greenville, SC and resided in the Augusta area for the past 45 years. He was a retired business man and the original franchisee for Burger King in Augusta and throughout the state of Alabama. Mr. Grant was a founding member of West Lake Country Club and was active in local civic affairs.
Family members in addition to his wife include his son: Robert Edward Grant (Kathryn Cozart Grant) of Augusta; granddaughter: Kathryn “Katie” Edwina Grant of Augusta; sisters: Inez G. Lewis of Denver, NC, Nellie G. Cooper of Greenville, SC. Mr. Grant was preceded in death by his first wife, Edwina Owens Grant, sisters: Alice G. Suttles, Jeanette G. Willis and brothers: Marvin J. Grant, Wade H. Grant, and Eddie P. Grant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dressell-Evans Golf Scholarship Fund, Augusta State University Foundation, 2500 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
The family will have a private interment at a later date.
