Robert "Bobby" Banks, Sr.

Robert “Bobby” Wade Banks, Sr, 85, passed away at home on October 12, 2024. 

Bobby was born in Grovetown GA on July 8, 1939 to Robert Walter and Eliza Mae (Hendrix) Banks. He graduated from Harlem High School and proudly played on Harlem’s very first football team. He served in the National Guard and then made a career at PCS Nitrogen where he retired as a Superintendent. Bobby was also a Shriner and Past Master of the Grovetown Masonic Lodge where he made lifelong friends with many of his brothers. 

He met the love of his life, Pauline Stewart Banks in 1961 on a blind date while she was in Nursing school. They were married for 60 years and had two children, Sharon Banks Watkins (Bobby) and Robert “Wade” Banks, Jr (Marion). They also have 3 grandchildren who he dearly loved, Lauren Ashley Davis, Jessica “Taylor” Davis and Robert “Chase” Banks (Skylr) 

Bobby is proceeded in death by his parents and sister Dottie Hopkins. 

Special thank you to the many friends and family that have been so good to Bobby and Pauline during his illness. The family would also like to thank the Heartland Hospice branch of Gentiva Hospice for his wonderful care. 

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 12 Noon at Grove First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Eckles and Rev. Sonny Serigney officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am at the church. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grove First Baptist Church, 108 W. Robinson Ave, Grovetown GA 30813.
