EVANS, Ga. – Entered into rest Monday, April 13, 2009, at University Hospital, Mr. Robert Carl Spratt, 79, husband of Judy Spratt.

Bob was a native of Rogers, Ohio and recently resided in Evans, GA. He retired after 25 years of service from the US Marines as a Master Sergeant. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Evans, GA. Bob was a member of the Worth Lodge 154 and Free and Accepted Masons. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason and member of the Shriners Hasan Temple in Albany, GA, Eastern Star, Moose Lodge and a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid Auburn Football fan, and enjoyed being a loving “Pop Top” to his grand children and great-grandchildren.

Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: William Spratt and wife Debra of McDonough, GA, Mike Spratt and wife Angie of Jacksonville, NC; daughters: Carla Hyatt and husband Brad of Cape Cod, MA, Tanya Gibbons and husband Steven of Evans, GA; brothers: Richard Spratt and wife Carol, Jim Spratt and wife Polly, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Leota Spratt and brothers William and Gary.

Memorial services will be held today, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Randy Monk officiating. US Marines will serve as honor guard.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
