Mr. Robert V. Crutchfield
Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, August 9, 2017, Robert Vernon Crutchfield, 79, loving husband of Kathryn Brown Crutchfield.
Mr. Crutchfield was born in Davy, WV. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving 22 years. Mr. Crutchfield worked for Pan Am for 20 years and served on the Columbia County CERT team.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include daughter: Sheila Sims (Donnie) of Piedmont, AL; sons: Steve Crutchfield of Augusta, Scott Crutchfield (Magali) of Lima, Peru; grandchildren: Amanda Sims, D.J. Sims, Liam Crutchfield, Kelsi Crutchfield; great grandchildren: Neveah and Aja; sisters: Pat Ransome, Theodosa Jones; brothers: Danny Crutchfield and David Crutchfield and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at The Sanctuary with Rev. Bryan Cockrell officiating. Mr. Crutchfield will lie in state one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Matosian, Jimmy Buchanon, Elwood Warrick, Herb White and Faithful Servants Men of the Sanctuary Sunday school class.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Augusta Wounded Warrior Project, 701 Greene Street, Suite 104, Augusta, GA 30901.
