Mr. Robert David Hancock
Martinez, GA –Beloved husband, father, and friend, Mr. Robert David Hancock, 45, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 30, 2011.
Mr. Hancock grew up in Marshall Co., KY and graduated from Marshall Co. High School in 1983. He was an active member of Martinez United Methodist Church and the Martinez UMC Men’s Group. He worked at Kimberly Clark as a process operator for 5 years. Previously he worked at Pepsi Cola for 18 years. Mr. Hancock was a Committee Member of the Augusta Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Family members in addition to his wife, Karen Howard Hancock, include his son, Austin David Hancock; parents: Col Jackie R. Hancock (Ret.), Virginia Hancock of Eddyville, KY; brother, Roger Hancock of Benton, KY; and grandfather, Gordon Holman Hancock of Sebree, KY. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Mary Lee Hancock, also of Sebree, KY.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Michael Schlaer and Staff, the nurses of University Hospital 10 West, and his physical therapist, Kristen Holloway.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Martinez United Methodist Church with Rev. Perry Shelfer officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jim Ashby, Danny Howell, Scott Pankey, Johnny Horton, Mike Blume, and Mike O’Brian. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kimberly Clark Tissue Manufacturing Crew #2.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Martinez United Methodist Church, 3614 Washington Rd., Martinez, GA 30907, or the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA 30909.
