Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, September 4, 2011, Mr. Robert Earl Cox, 77, husband of Ellen Lindsay Cox.
Mr. Cox was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church. He was an industrial electrician and a member of the Local 349 in Miami, FL for 55 years. Mr. Cox was an avid golfer. Along with Ellen they taught a bible Sunday school class at Lewis Memorial UMC. He was a NASCAR fan. Mr. Cox was in the Army Reserves for 7 years. He spent his life devoted to his Savior Jesus Christ. Mr. and Mrs. Cox were happily married 57 ½ years. Mr. Cox loved and cherished his wife more with each passing day.
Family members in addition to his wife include grandchildren: Lindsay Huffman Brooker and Bethany Huffman Gantt, great-grandchildren: Grayson, Rinna Beth, Libby, Rhett, Gentry Cate, Walker, Belle and Holland Jane, uncles: John Cox (Mary) of Martinez, GA and Glenn Cox of South Miami, FL. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his daughter: Laurinda Cox Huffman and his brother: Howard L. Cox.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Eddie Bradford and Rev. Sonny Sellers officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation,Gift Processing Center, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018 or to Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church, 5555 Hereford Farm Road, Evans, GA 30809.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
