Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, February 4, 2017, Mr. Robert Edmund Harrison, 92, loving husband of 67 years to Mildred H. Harrison.

Mr. Harrison was a native of Brantley County, Georgia.

Robert was a decorated combat veteran who served in WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor and the Purple Heart and was educated under the GI Bill. He retired after 40 years as a Regional Director of Vocational Rehabilitation for the State of Georgia.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughters: Angela Harrison-Ham, Janet Harrison Wilson and husband Glenn; son: Bobby Harrison; grandchildren: Kellie Renee Ham, Ashley R. Ham (Laura), and Robert Alan Wilson (Virginia); great grandchildren: Ryan Ashley Ham, Sara Beth Ham, Ashley Grace Ham, Charlotte Claire Wilson, and Georgia Elizabeth Wilson; and sister: Lula Mae Harrison Robinson and her late husband Dr. A.K. Robinson. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter Annette Harrison; his parents: George W. and Mary Jacobs Harrison and his sister: Christine Harrison.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vets to Washington Project, 3709 Fairington Drive, Hephzibah, Georgia 30815.
