Robert Hatcher, Jr. Augusta, GA-With profound sadness we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” F. Hatcher Jr. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend to all whose lives he touched.
He passed away on January 5, 2021 surrounded by his family, from medical complications at the Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.
Bob grew up in Macon, Georgia where he met his beautiful wife Marion Bell Hatcher, and later moved to Augusta, Georgia where they spent the next fifty-four years of their life together.
He was a true family man who cherished his faith, family and friends above all else. Always willing to offer a helpful hand and volunteering his time making everyone’s world a better place. He was known for his green thumb and worked to beautify the Church Gardens at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church with countless hours and endless energy.
His career in Civil Service began at Warner Robins Air Force Base and he concluded his 37 years of service with his retirement at Fort Gordon in Augusta.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife Marion Bell Hatcher of 60 years, daughter Melanie (Darryl), son Bryan (Julie), grandson Bruce (Brittany), Kalan, Brett, Tanner, granddaughter Savannah, great grandchildren Braelyn, Blakely, and Brody.
The family will be holding a private grave side service in his honor.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date to be determined.
