Mr. Robert Joseph Dressel, Sr.
Augusta, GA –Mr. Robert J. Dressel, Sr., 92, beloved husband of the late Edna Holloway Dressel left this earth to be with his heavenly Father, March 17, 2012. “Snag” as he was known in his younger years due to his baseball prowess, was loved by everyone who ever met him. He enjoyed working in his yard and the Braves were his passion. He proudly served with the Marines in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He was adored by his loving children: Bobby Dressel (Mary) of Augusta, Cay Hopkins (Enon) of Evans, Debbie Templeton of Martinez, and Pam Redd (Bucky) of Macon, GA. Family members in addition to his children include nine grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Sandee Green.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Andy Menger officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Augusta State University Foundation (Dressel-Evans Scholarship), 2500 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904-2200.
