Bob was born on Wake Island. He was raised there and on Canton Island, Puerto Rico, and in California. He grew up catching sharks, spearfishing, and climbing trees. He graduated from medical school at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and served as a physician in the United States Army, specializing in infectious disease. With multiple deployments to Iraq as well as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, Bob served his country for over 25 years and retired as a Colonel. He gave great care to his patients as Chief of Infectious Disease at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He lived according to the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” He dedicated his life to his family, patients, and country.
Bob will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
When we look up at the night sky, we remember you. Our memories of you are as bright and beautiful as the stars you so loved to gaze upon.
“. . . The mountain storm has passed, and I, like the land, have not been left unchanged in its passing.” -Bob Kazragis
