ROBERT LAVON (ROB) LINK
Entered the arms of our Lord March, 13, 2014 at his residence.
Rob was a native of Boston, Massachusetts, with tenures of residence in North Carolina and South Carolina, and was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in marketing. That degree and consequent employment as shoe store manager brought him to the Regency Mall in Augusta in 1985.

In late November 1987, he met Jim Cartee who became his loved companion, soul mate, and roommate along with John W. Adams, where they resided in Martinez and Augusta for the last twenty seven years.

Rob opened and managed Offshore Drilling, a night club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and two in Augusta (Baby O’s and Masquerades); he opened and managed The Summerville Grill, Andrew’s at the Sheraton, catering assistant for Houndslake Country Club and his own renowned Event Planning business known as “The Party Link”.

As a part time favor and full time love he was the Chief Executive Assistant to Jim Cartee and John Adams, doing every aspect of management possible and necessary to operate their mutual business “Salon Glitz”, Cartee Hairdesigns, Inc. and the ongoing renovations and restoration of their homes and properties.

Rob is predeceased by his extended family mom “Mamma C” (Gwen Cartee) and several of his/our four legged soul mates – Benjamin, Jamie, Ashley, Michael, Grace, Sapphire, Buddy, Sadie and his beloved Great Pyrenees named Jo Jo. We also had a family adopted son/soul mate that passed away in September 2014, Justin Rhye.

Rob is survived by his eight year old Akita, “Baby Bear” and his companions and soul mates of twenty seven years, Jim Cartee and John Adams (the three main loves of his life) and numerous family friends who have all adopted him as their own with adopted mom/sister being Lynn A. Ward and brothers being Douglas Hester-Hearon, Len Jackson, Jacob Hayes and Jordan Prather Steele.

Rob was a member of St. Mary’s On-The –Hill , and an “honorary” Baptist through his love, respect , and devotion to Dr. Greg and Amy DeLoach at the First Baptist Church of Augusta.

Rob (like the legendary Peter Pan) loved all souls both two and four legged, and would give his last dime or garment to anyone in need even to his own detriment! He was fun loving, giving, soulful and loved life. All he ever wanted from life was to be loved and appreciated.

Rob’s “family” will receive friends in the Storey Chapel of the First Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M . on Monday March 17th,2014 with services immediately following at 12:00 Noon with Dr. Gregory DeLoach and Reverend Cherian Thalakulam officiating.

Rob – We Love You and Miss You ………Our lives will never be the same!
