Augusta, GA – Robert M. (Mike) Lamb was called home by the Lord on Friday, October 1, 2010 after a long battle with Parkinsons. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Lamb was a loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. He retired from the Augusta Chronicle Circulation Department after 36 years of service. He was passionate about golf and bowling. He loved his Atlanta Braves. Mr. Lamb was a member of The Optimist Club of Augusta and the Masters 250 Club with the Masters Bowling Lanes.
Mr. Lamb is survived by his wife of 61 years, Christine McCarty Lamb; son, Bobby Lamb (Mary); daughter, Cheryl Lamb Spilman; grandchildren: Gene, Chad, Addie and Luke Lamb, Paul and Melanie Spilman; and brother, Vernon Lamb.
The family would like to thank Regency Hospice and especially Ronnie Voss for the love and care given to him.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Linda Birchall and Chaplain Finley Limehouse. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
