Robert Allen “Bobby” Prescott, Jr. beloved husband of 36 years to the love of his life, Patricia Ann “Patti” Prescott entered heavenly eternal rest on February 16, 2025. In his last days he was surrounded by his loving family. Bobby was born on November 8, 1942, in Savannah, GA to Robert Allen and Margaret Lucille Prescott. He was blessed to be the father of five children: Angie (Mike) Bridges, Robbie (Tonya) Prescott, Blaine Prescott, Jessica Anderson and Maggie (Michael) Davis. He was a grandfather to five grandchildren: Mark (Anna) Jones, Jr., Katlyn (Matthew) Foushee, Logan Prescott, Casey Prescott and Savannah Anderson. He loved them all dearly.
Bobby is survived by two brothers: Jim Prescott of Arlington, TX and Gary (Gail) Prescott of Augusta, GA. Bobby was preceded in death by a brother Carlton Eugene “Gene” Willis, Jr. (Joy) and his parents. He was a brother-in-law, nephew, cousin and uncle to his very large, loving family and a friend to many. Our dog Peach was his constant companion and a great source of joy to him.
Bobby was a member at Liberty Methodist Church at Hephzibah, GA and also attended Dunn’s Chapel Methodist in Appling, GA.
Bobby graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta, and he served his country in the US Air Force, being stationed in Omaha, NE. He was employed at Federal Paperboard for several years as a Maintenance Planner. After retiring from Federal Paperboard, he spent 25 years as a successful businessman, operating the family-owned business Robbie’s Sports Bar in Augusta. He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, an excellent fisherman, and was happy to be the captain of his pontoon boat. He enjoyed the lake and gathering with friends and family. After retirement, Patti and he took road trips to many places, but his favorite was the coast of Georgia and Florida. Bobby was happiest and always felt at home near the water. He had a big, giving heart and often secretly purchased meals for strangers while dining out. His sense of humor was quick, his hugs were big, and he loved large. He will be missed by many. Bobby loved the Lord, and our loss is Heaven’s gain as he is welcomed to his forever home into the arms of Jesus. He is now free of the pain and suffering from illness.
The Family would like to thank Dr. Lescott, and the 10th floor nurses with the Comfort Care Team at Piedmont Hospital (Augusta), who helped him transition from this world. Your kindness was a blessing to his family.
A celebration of a life well lived will be held at a later date. If you wish, memorial contributions may be made to Hands to Paws animal rescue at https://www.hands2paws.org/donate.html or Samaritan’s Purse at https://www.samaritanspurse.org/
