Robert W. Clark, Jr.

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, March 31, 2015, Mr. Robert “Bobby” W. Clark, Jr., 76, husband to Collette L. Clark.

After his father’s death, Bobby quit school to provide for his mother and sisters. He became an electrical apprentice and quickly excelled in the trade craft. He served as a member of the United States Army Reserve for several years. Bobby joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #1579 in 1957 and founded S&R Electrical Contractors in the late 1960’s. As he worked to grow his business, he also grew in his service to the Lord. He went on countless mission trips to build churches so those less fortunate would have a place to worship our Lord and Savior. His mission work took him to Brazil, Africa, Russia, and various places in the U.S., including New Orleans to help residents rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.

He is a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta. Bobby was an avid golfer and played almost daily after his retirement at age 57. His mission work continued for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Robyn Veal (Joey) and Shelley Lynch; former wife and mother of his children, Sylvia Hamby; stepdaughter: Lisa Nolan and family; grandchildren: James Wombles, Jr. and Chase Lynch; sisters: Anna Kate Moody, Betty Miller, Nina Hebbard; and his beloved dog, Junior. He was preceded in death by sisters Louise Drawdy and Elizabeth Swearingen, and brothers Emory Clark and Rev. Charles Clark.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Westover Memorial Park on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating. His family will receive friends immediately following the ceremony.
