Rocky Hendrix

Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, September 5, 2024, Bernard “Rocky” Hendrix, 80.

Rocky was a native of Augusta, GA. He served in the United States Navy for two years. Rocky retired from Georgia Regional Hospital as a supervisor. He attended Martinez Baptist Church and Journey Community Church. Rocky enjoyed woodworking and built lots of sets for Martinez Baptist Church Passion Play. In his free time, he worked to earn his pilot’s license. He found joy in traveling and helping others. 

Family members include his daughters: Roxanne Camak (Jody) and Angie Cassedy (Kevin); grandchildren: Audrey Strickland (Brennen), Arlen Camak (Madison), Graham Camak, Bryce Cassedy, Ella Cassedy, and Brooks Cassedy; brother: Bernie Hendrix; and sister: Darlene Miller. He is preceded in death by his first wife: Betty Jane Young Hendrix; and his sisters: Dixie Bralley, Virginia Slade, and Jane Merritt. 

The funeral service will be held Monday, September 9, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Pastor Tracy Pressley officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
