Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, December 14, 2013, Mr. Roger W. Stone, 79, loving husband of the late Ann Jones Stone.
Roger was born in Eatonton, GA. He was the son of a Methodist Minister who served throughout North Georgia. He was a graduate of UGA and Emory where he earned his Masters of Divinity. Roger and his late wife, Ann, served 42 years in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Family members include daughter: Deborah Stone Blackmon and husband Tommy; son: Roger W. “Chip” Stone, III and wife Nancy; and grandchildren: Andy Blackmon, Benjamin Blackmon, Natalie Stone, Annie Caroline Stone, and Ella Stone.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Mann Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Sonny Mason and Rev. Mike Cash officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mann Memorial United Methodist Church, 2705 Milledgeville Rd., Augusta, GA 30904.
