Ronald E. Means

Ronald Means Ronald Edward means passed on January 29th, 2025, at Doctor’s Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. 

He was born December 7th, 1951, in Newberry, SC to Barney and Lola Mae (Fant) Means. He grew up with his three brothers and three sisters and graduated from Gallman High School. After graduating, he went on to join the military and served for 17 ½ years. He worked with private sector contractors and then retired from the department of defense. He was a hardworking, God-fearing man that loved his wife Barbara for all 55 years that they were together and also took great care of his family. 

He is survived by the love of his life Barbara; his five children and sons-in-law, Becky (Phillip) Gibson, Stefanie (Achille) Holmes, Allison Means, Christopher Means (Kristen) and adopted son Stanley Gray. Furthermore, he was a loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren Darius, Davonta’, Achille Jr., Elyssa, Joshua, Phillip Jr., Bryson, Khaleif, Khatlyn, Khylsc, Khylwn and had three great-grandchildren Carson, Le’ahna, Liam; and longtime friend: William James. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Donald Long officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
