Blake Paulos, 68, peacefully crossed over to heaven’s shore March 10, 2023, at his Martinez residence, surrounded by family and close friends. He was a faithful husband of 46 years to Gloria Allison Paulos and a devoted father to Josh and his wife Andreina. He was a proud Papa to his grandchildren, Jack and Norah.
Blake’s passion for life, his gentle spirit and his unwavering love for his Savior, his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him. With camera in hand, he found joy in exploring the outdoors, hiking mountainous trails, kayaking, and sitting next to a campfire in his favorite mountain or beach camping spots. He never missed an opportunity to capture the beauty of the natural world, or the smiles of his grandchildren, a sailboat at sunset, or a special celebration.
He was a retiree of the Savannah River Site and the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. He was the owner of the Audubon Nature Store, formerly located in Augusta Mall. Blake is predeceased by his parents, Christopher and Doris Paulos, his brother, Mark Paulos (Mary), and was a loyal brother to Keith Paulos (Barbara) and Alex Paulos. He was a cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews, with whom he enjoyed fun nights of card games and pizza.
Blake created lifelong friendships through his memberships in the Augusta Sailing Club and the Canoe and Kayak Club of Augusta.
The family will be forever grateful to Trinity Hospice, especially Shannon Patterson, for the excellent care provided.
