Born in Queens, New York to Joyce and Joseph Sampson on January 1, 1943, Ronald attended and graduated from Hempsted High, Class of 1962 before going on to serve in the Navy from 1962 to 1968. While serving his country, Ronald traveled to Vietnam, Japan and Hawaii on USS Bristol. After returning home from the Navy, Ronald attended Queens College and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. During the summer of 1974 while vacationing in Barbados, Ronald met his future wife, Peggie and later married on a brisk fall day in 1979. Two years into their marriage, Ronald and Peggie Sampson welcomed their first-born; Robin in 1981 and later welcomed their second born, Rhonda in 1985. Ronald was a loving husband and father, never missing a recital or performance and was front and center at every graduation. In 1989, Ronald moved his family from LongIsland, New York to Davie, Florida while working as a Crew Scheduler for Eastern Airlines and later to Indiana in 1992 before retiring from the airlines in 2005 after 40 years.
Ronald has reunited with his mother and father, Joseph and Joyce Sampson, his Uncle Ernie, Uncle Sonny, and niece, Julane Davidson.
Ronald’s legacy lives on through his daughters, Robin and Rhonda Sampson and leaves his wife, Peggie, sisters, Joyce, Yvonne, Janice, Barbara, brothers, Joseph and Kenneth as well as a host of relatives and friends.
