Clarks Hill, SC – Entered into rest Sunday, August 21, 2011, Mrs. Rosalie Parnell, 87, wife of 70 years to Mr. Sanford Elwood Parnell.
Mrs. Parnell was a native of St. Pauls, NC and resided in the Augusta and Clarks Hill, SC area for the past 50 years. She was a member of Abilene Baptist Church in Martinez and former member of Fleming Baptist Church of Augusta. Mrs. Parnell retired from E. I. Dupont as Paymaster after 26 years.
Family members in addition to her husband include daughters: Saundra Holevas of Henderson, TN, Adelia Walton (George) of Clarks Hill, SC; grandchildren: Andrea Hargis (Kip), Emory Shead (Kristel), Lea Parsons (Robbie), Garrett Hattaway (Laurie); and 7 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Harrell officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1899 Central Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904-5755.
