Rose Arnold

Nashville, TN - Leonora Rose Wesselman Arnold left this world peacefully on the night of November 20, 2017 to return to the loving embrace of her Lord, her adoring Jack, and her many friends and family awaiting her arrival in Paradise. She was born in Paris, Kentucky on May 3, 1922. While growing up in the countryside during The Depression forged a strong character of fortitude and resourcefulness in her and her siblings, John-Louis, Elsie and Martha, she also fondly recalled many times of joy and mirth during her formative years. In 1940 at age 18, she met a handsome fellow by the name of Jack Traylor Arnold. The two fell madly in love and were married two months later. They gave birth to a son, Jack Louis, in 1941. Five years after that, a daughter arrived to complete their little family- Janeen Rose. After Jack returned from serving with the Marines in the Pacific theater during WWII, the Arnolds settled in Augusta, where Jack found a position in sales with Tri-Check Seed Company. Once the children had left the nest, Rose went back to school to study nursing. She served for twenty-five years as an LPN in University Hospital's Neurology department. She was a dedicated member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church since 1958, where she was an integral part of the Damren Sunday School Class, Loaves of Faith Bible Study, Prime Time Senior Adult Ministry and Susannah Wesley Circle. She is survived by her son, Jack Louis Arnold of Cincinnati, Ohio; her daughter, Janeen Rose Arnold Laughbaum; her son-in-law, James Steven Laughbaum; and her only grandson, John Adam Lofbomm, of Nashville, Tennessee.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11am the Chapel at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Mike Cash and Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. The visitation will precede the service at 10am at the church.
