Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest Friday, June 11, 2010, Mr. Ruben B. Boyd, 85, husband of the late Blanche Hendrix Boyd.

Mr. Ruben Boyd was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He served in World War II in the Navy at Casablanca and in the Pacific at Okinawa. Mr. Boyd was honored to be a participant in the Library of Congress World War II Veterans History Project. He retired from Merry Brothers Brick and Tile Company. As a lifelong member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, he taught Sunday School for many years and served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons.

Family members include his daughter: Donna Kaye Stouder of Grovetown; sons: Dr. Michael B. Boyd and wife Monica of Augusta, Joseph W. Boyd, Sr. and wife Cissy of Lake Oconee, GA; grandchildren: Emily B. Lyday, Joseph W. Boyd, Jr., Wesley E. Boyd, William M. B. Boyd, Charlotte E. Boyd, Alex B. Boyd and Taylor M. Stouder.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Billy Turner officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Paul E. Lyday & Dave Stouder. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers and if so desired, that memorials be made to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 3965 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815
