Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, January 18, 2013, Mrs. Ruby Lee Spires, 88, wife of the late Mr. Alexander S. Spires, Jr.
Mrs. Spires was a native of Paris, TX but lived in Augusta for the past 60 years. She retired from the St. Joseph Hospitality Shop as a Supervisor after 30 years of service. Mrs. Spires was a Baptist and a very active in volunteer work at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home and the Veterans Administration Hospital.
Family members include son: Carl S. Goodman (Sherry) and companion of 22 years: Mr. Robert “Sonny” Nelson and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the home of her son, 3604 Barbados Drive. A private burial will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Beverly Manor and to University Hospice for their compassionate care.
