Ruth Ann (Radcliffe) Camarote, 85, of Martinez, GA, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, September 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Ruth Ann grew up in Bridgeton NJ where she met the love of her life, Alfred Camarote, when they worked together at Owens-Illinois. She retired from her job as a legal secretary in 2004. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family- especially at family celebrations, holiday gatherings, and at the beach (Ocean City, NJ was her favorite). She was an extremely kind and generous person with a beautiful soul whose first thought was always for others.
She showed her love for others in so many special ways. She was an exceptional cook, especially known for her potato salad, pasta salad, chocolate chip cake, and monster cookies. Bargain shopping was her favorite sport, and her children and grandchildren were the lucky recipients of many amazing care packages filled with thoughtful gifts. She was a Yahtzee queen and a master of trivia. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor.
Ruth Ann embodied the values of family commitment and love in everything she did and touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her final message to us was to love each other, always be a good person and be the best that we could be.
She was a loving mother of 5 and grandmother of 13 and will be deeply missed by her children and their families. She leaves her children: Daniel Camarote (Betsy), Patricia Lawlor (Greg), Nancy Moriarty (Tom), Christie Liberante (Mike) and Kelly Simmons (Teryn); and her grandchildren: Ryan, Christopher (Annalie), Jessie, Marissa, Megan, Michael, Margaret, Jonathan, Tyler, Kamryn, Kylee, Kendall and Kelsey. She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Alfred James Camarote, as well as her mother Beatrice Radcliffe, sister Betty Jean DiLabio, and brother Robert Radcliffe. She was blessed to have a wide circle of other wonderful family members and friends who loved her, including nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 4921 Columbia Rd, Grovetown. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
