Augusta, GA - Rutheda R. Jones, age 99, widow of Mr. Woody R. Jones, entered into glory Sunday, February 21, 2016, at home surrounded by family.
She lived a rich and full life, full of the love of the Lord. Her artistic talent blessed many people as she captured the beauty of God’s creation, both in landscapes and portraits. She was born and raised on a farm near Silver Creek, Nebraska. Moved to Cheyenne, WY in 1940 – raised family there. Moved to Augusta in 1992 to be near her daughter, then moved into her home in 2002. Her strong faith in the Lord carried her through life and blessed are those who came in contact with her. “Her Children arise and call her blessed” (Prov. 31:28)
Family members in addition to her late husband include: children: Patty Harmon; grandchildren: Kimberly Minor, David R. Jones, Jr., John Russell Jones, Jonathan David Jones, Bob Harmon, Jim Harmon, Mike Harmon, Brian Harmon and Allin Harmon; great-grandchildren: John Minor, Jr., Mary Beth Minor, Anne Marie Minor, Joy Minor, David R. Jones III, Garrison W. Jones, Michaela Jones, Garrett Jones, Amy Harmon, Faith Harmon, Paul Harmon, Vicky (Harmon) Sutton, Angela Harmon, Carolyn Harmon, Margaret Harmon and Jonah Harmon.; great great-grandchild: Talion Alexander Sutton. She is preceded in death by her children: David R. Jones and Timothy R. Jones; and grandchild: Parker Jones.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Burns Memorial United Methodist Church, 2372 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA, 30906 with Rev. Jerry Peele officiating. Burial will follow in ¬¬¬¬Alleluia cemetery.
The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service at the church.
