Sally Thacker

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, March 18, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Sally Pruitt Thacker, 76, loving wife of 51 years to Jerry M Thacker.

Sally was born in Norfolk, Virginia on July 4, 1945. She moved to Augusta when she was 5 years old. She attended Furman University, University of Georgia and Augusta College where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She worked at Procter and Gamble for 24 years as Personnel Secretary. Sally loved Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, crossword puzzles and Sudoku. She loved gardening and her flowers.

Family members in addition to her husband include her children, Jay Thacker and Lisa Ackerknecht and grandchild Blake Ackerknecht. She is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Anne Pruitt and sister, Anne Everett.

The chapel service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 11:00 am at Thomas Poteet & Son with the Chaplain Katrina Salter-Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
