Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, January 14, 2016, Mr. Salvatore “Subby” Pileggi, 86, loving husband to Mary Thigpen Pileggi.
Salvatore worked for J.C. Penny on Broad Street and in sales at Haverty’s Furniture. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers on Friday afternoons, gardening, and traveling throughout the United States.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his sons: Charles A. Pileggi and Larry A. Pileggi; step-son: Richard L. Turner; step-daughter: Mary Yvonne Turner; brothers: Nicholas Pileggi, Frank Pileggi and wife Joanne; and grandchildren: Candice Smith, Jima Slate, Robert Battle, Kathleen Bauer, Cheryl Hepler, and Richard E. Turner. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Catherine Deas and Elizabeth Ironwing; and brother: Anthony Pileggi.
The funeral service Monday, January 18, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Richard Nevard officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 2005 Windsor Spring Rd., Augusta, GA 30906 or to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 4921 Columbia Rd., Grovetown, GA 30813.
