Mr. Samuel Edward “Sonny” Doolittle, IV
Martinez, GA – Mr. Samuel Edward “Sonny” Doolittle IV, 74, entered into rest Saturday, April 2, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Doolittle was a lifelong resident of the Augusta area. He graduated for the Academy of Richmond County in 1954 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as Vice President of Duplicating at Georgia Railroad Bank and Trust Company. Mr. Doolittle was a member of American Legion Post 192 and AMBUCS and was active in the Elks Minstrels.
Family members include daughter, Gina D. Purkey of Martinez; son, Steven E. Doolittle (Cassidy) of Lewisville, TX; three grandchildren: Cory Jacobs, Kayla Jacobs, Jacob “Jake” Doolittle; and loving companion, Donna Christoff of Martinez. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel E. Doolittle III and Catherine B. Doolittle.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2011, 11:00 A.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Steven Doolittle officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA 30909.
