AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Sandra Glasgow Martin (76) passed away on April 24,
2012 at Brookdale Assisted Living. She was the wife of the late George
Marvin "Buddy" Martin.
Mrs. Martin was born in Mayfield, KY and was the daughter of the
late J.P. and Maybelle Boyd Glasgow. She had lived in Augusta for many
years was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved music. She was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church since 1969 and was a
member of the choir.
She was a graduate of Murray High School. She graduated from
Georgia Southern University with a degree in Music and received her
Master of Education degree with a Major in Media from Georgia Southern
University in 1980. She retired from the Columbia County school system
as a Media Specialist.
Survivors include: daughters: Lisa M. Gravil and husband Paul of
Okatie, SC, Leslie M. Arnold and husband Dale; grandson: Ky Arnold and
granddaughter: Chandler Marie Arnold all of Harlem, GA; brother: James
G. Glasgow and wife Ellen B. Glasgow of Frankfort, KY; nieces: Holly Forester and Diane Davis; nephews: Jamie Glasgow and Boyd Glasgow.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her sister Marcella G. Davis.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta, GA with Rev. Paul Sherwood, Sr. officiating. Pallbearers will be Tom Blalock, Carl Faulk, Dale J. Arnold, Paul Gravil, Ky Arnold and John Phillips.
A special thanks to her wonderful friends along with the staff at
Brookdale Assisted Living and the staff of Heartland Hospice.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Guillain-Barre Syndrome Foundation at The Holly Building 104 ½ Forrest Avenue, Nabreath, PA 19072 and/or Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church at 2261 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
