Augusta, GA – Sandra C. Gleason went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 17, 2023. Her loving husband, Gerald Louis Gleason, Sr., of 48 years preceded her death.

Sandra was a native of Augusta, Georgia. She worked in and retired from Admissions at the Medical College of Georgia. Sandra was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Augusta and the George Ballentine Sunday school Class. After retirement she lovingly worked in the nursery and preschool at the church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, visiting places such as Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean. Of all the places she visited her favorite place to go and relax was Hilton Head, SC, where she enjoyed sitting on the beach, swimming in the pool, and eating seafood.

Family members include her four children: Tamara Knox (Bill) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Gerald Louis Gleason, Jr. (Christina) of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Teresa Johnson (Ron) of Greenville, SC, and Sean Gleason (Glenna) of Roswell, Georgia. Sandra’s grandchildren were her pride and joy and brought her countless precious memories; Christopher Knox (Heather), Casey Knox Nestor (Sean), Avery Gleason, Emily Conniff Williams (Zack), Chase Gleason and Makenzie Gleason (Taylor) and eight great grandchildren. Traveling and good time partners were her two sisters and brothers-in law: Mary Katherine Keys (Mike) and Emily Ann Robinson (Larry). In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Eva Halford Daniels and Alford Ferris Halford and her brother Albert Ferris Halford.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. in Storey Chapel at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Jim Walls officiating. Burial will follow at Blythe Baptist Church Cemetery in Blythe, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Ron Johnson, Bill Knox, Chris Knox, Avery Gleason, Chase Gleason and Sean Nestor.
