Augusta, GA - Sandra M. Broyles died on October 14, 2013 in University Hospital after a short illness. She was survived by her husband of 52 years, J. Larry Broyles; daughter: Lora B. Bollinger and husband Don; son: John E. Broyles, II, all of Augusta. Grandchildren: Christopher D. Bollinger, of Evans, and Alden J. Broyles and Andrew K. Broyles, of Columbia, South Carolina. She is also survived by her brother: William S. Munn, and his wife, Ann Munn, of Clemson, South Carolina, three nieces: Katherine Munn Chastain, Cullen Munn Bull and Nicole Munn, and one nephew: Samuel S. Munn.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Storey Chapel at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating. A private burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Patrick J. Rice, David E. Hudson, William B. Brigham, Bernard S. Dunstan, Jr., James C. Folk and John P. Gillion. Honorary pallbearers shall be the NOVA Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Broyles attended public schools in Richmond County and graduated from Richmond Academy in 1957. She attended the University of South Carolina and received an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science in 1960.
She and her husband have lived in Augusta for the last 46 years. Mrs. Broyles was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta for over 40 years and was very active in church activities. She loved her family, her church and her friends.
Of Sandra Broyles, it can truly be said, in the words of Saint Peter: “...the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” She did all that and more. She shall be missed.
