Martinez, GA –Sandra W. Johnson, 70, wife of Bill Johnson went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 10, 2014, surrounded by her family and friends after an extended illness.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and served Him under many capacities at Bayvale, Clearview, and Pineview Baptist Churches. Mrs. Johnson loved to sing and had a beautiful soprano voice. She influenced many children’s lives by example through her Christian walk. Mrs. Johnson worked as the office manager for Rubens Department Store for 48 years.
Family members in addition to her husband include daughters: Teresa Black (Tim) of Chattanooga, TN and Christy Crabbe (Patrick) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Mary Black and Liam Crabbe; and brother: Darrell Wright. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents: L.D. and Florence Wright and sister: Beverly Wright.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Michael L. Davenport officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pineview Baptist Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 204232, Martinez, GA 30907.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
