Newnan, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Mrs. Sara Johnson Baker, wife of the late Mr. Carleton Harold Baker, Ph.D.
Mrs. Baker was born in Augusta and was a faithful member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church. She attended Louisiana State University where she completed a Masters Degree in Mathematics Education. She taught at Richmond Academy in Augusta and later at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, FL. In her later years she enjoyed playing bridge and other card games. She especially enjoyed the company of her dogs Logan and Gucci.
Family members include her daughters: Beth Bradshaw (Lee) and Janet Baker Howell (Scott). In addition to her husband, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Emily Johnson, her brothers Claud Jr. and Wyatt, and her sister Martha Lanier.
The funeral service will be Monday, January 9, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church with The Rev. Terri Walker Degenhardt officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
