Sara Thigpen

Augusta, GA – Sara Prescott Thigpen, wife of the late Roy Felton Thigpen went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2010. She was born in Jefferson County on June 7, 1920. She was the eldest of eleven children of the late Elbert & Ola (Stewart) Prescott. She was a homemaker, loved gardening, cooking & spending time with her family. She was a member of Glenn Hills Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son: Gary (Lynn) Thigpen, daughter: Ginny (Harold) Hughes, grandchildren: Stacey Hughes (Sidney) Dennis, Ashley Thigpen (Craig) Godwin & Brian Thigpen, great grandchildren: Bradley Godwin & Payton Dennis, sister: Alice Robertson, brothers: Randall Prescott, Don Prescott & Dudley Prescott.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Ed Stark officiating.
