Augusta, GA – Sara Vaughan Andrews, age, 73, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at her home in Louisville, Kentucky. Sara was the eldest daughter of Worth Andrews, Jr. and Anna Andrews. She was a 1960 graduate of Aquinas High School and attended Augusta College. She was a member of the Irish American Heritage Society and was retired from Delta Airlines. Sara was an avid college football fan and loved cheering for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Georgia Bulldogs.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Cathy Andrews Covert. She is survived by her sister Anne Andrews Feitelson and her husband Philip, and her brother Worth Andrews, III and his wife Phillipa, she is also survived by brother-in-law David Covert and several nieces and nephews; Anna, Gregory, and Jeremy Feitelson, Andrew Hook, Sara Mills Tucker, Elizabeth Blitch and Worth Andrews, IV.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Russell Gambill, Edward Holmes, Bruce Jackson, Mike Rucker, Daniel Sheehan and Frank Ward.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Ave, Augusta, GA 30904.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
