Mauldin, SC – Entered into rest Sunday, May 16, 2010, Mrs. Sara Williams Godbee, 84, wife of the late Broadus Calvin Godbee.
Mrs. Godbee was a native of Wrightsboro, GA, grew up in Thomson, GA, and lived most of her life in Augusta. She was a retired secretary. Mrs. Godbee was a member of Burns Memorial United Methodist Church.
Family members include her daughter: Drenda G. Marsch and husband Dean of Simpsonville, SC; son: Glenn Godbee and wife Deborah of Wetumpka, AL; sister: Elsie Mobley of Snellville, GA; and 3 grandchildren: Matt Godbee of Marion Junction, AL, Janet Marsch and Laura Marsch both of Simpsonville, SC.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Burns Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Cox officiating. Mrs. Godbee will lie in state from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at the church at which time the family will receive friends. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tommy Williams, Mike Crawford, Tripp Johnson, Smith Johnson, Jeff Mobley, Robert Storey, Chuck Ashley and Matt Godbee.
