Sarah Rhoads
Evans, GA – Sarah Catherine Rhoads, age 17, of Evans, Georgia, died from a tragic car accident on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 near Lincoln County, Georgia.
Born in 2001, Sarah was the daughter of Joy Maple and the late Alexander J. Rhoads. She is survived by her brother, Bennett and her sisters, Abby and Caroline. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Bonnie K. Maple and Carol J. Rhoads.
Sarah attended Lakeside High School where she participated in several school activities and clubs. She was a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Cross Country team, Track and Field team, Miss Lakeside Pageant, and the Buddy Club. In addition, she was actively engaged in Young Life Augusta, Social, Inc. and Love Unlimited. When she wasn’t attending school or participating in various activities, Sarah maintained a part-time job at Zaxby’s restaurant where she served her favorite food, fried chicken.
Along with her family, Sarah attended Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church in Augusta. She was actively engaged in the life and ministry at Reid Memorial from Sunday school, youth group, Vacation Bible School, Sunday night youth worship leadership to various mission trips and retreats. Sarah’s love of Christ and others radiated to all who knew her and inspired her to leadership opportunities in the larger church. Sarah served as an Enabler at Massenetta Springs Camp and Conference Center, a counselor for Middle School Montreat, Young Life work crew, and Camp I.V.E.Y. counselor.
A memorial service will be Thursday, August 2, 2018, 2:00 P.M. at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. Matt Rich officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 3:30 P.M. at the church. The burial will be private.
