Evans, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Doctors Hospital, Sarah Yvonne Waters Rogers, age 87.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Mt. Olive, NC but was raised in Rose Hill, NC. She was a big fan of ACC basketball, particularly Duke basketball. She was a lover of sewing and cats, especially her own, Sweet Pea and Sushi, which were a great comfort to her through her battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was retired as a school teacher from the Calvert County, MD school system. She lived the last 17 years in Evans to be closer to her family.
Family members include daughter: Lisa Martin and husband Chris; son: Sean Rogers; granddaughter: Kristin Owens and husband Sean; great-grandson: Bentley Hayes; sisters: Elizabeth Blake and Billie Mac Shank; the father of her children: James Rogers; and a host of other family members.
Services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: 106 SRP Drive, Suite A, Evans, GA 30809.
