Evans, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, February 11, 2012, Mrs. Sarah Squires, 96, wife of the late Mr. David Squires, Sr.
Mrs. Squires was born in Greenwood, LA. The family moved to New Orleans where she lived for over 75 years. She worked at D. H. Holmes Dept Store in the millinery dept., eventually becoming the manager. She worked there for over 20 years. She moved to Brandon Wilde in Augusta, GA in 2002 to get away from hurricanes just 3 years before Katrina struck.
Family members include daughters: Barbara Squires Lewis (Dr. Ronald) of Augusta, GA, Diane Squires Chronis (Lt. Col. Nicholas) of Mandeville, LA; son: David Squires, Jr. (Rachel Lampert) of Ithaca, NY; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Brandon Wilde in the Georgia Room, at 4275 Owens Rd., Evans, GA 30809.
