SFC (Ret) Donald L. Reems
Augusta, GA – Sgt. 1st Class (Ret) Donald “Don” Lloyd Reems, 85, entered into rest Sunday, August 20, 2017.
Born in Marshall, NC, Don retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and two tours in Korea, including the Korean War. Making Evans his home, he worked for Southern Bell for over 20 years. Don was a member of the Aiken and Augusta Gem and Mineral Society, as well as, a micro-mineral hobbyist.
Family members include his children: Diana Duckworth (Ivan) of North Augusta, Alan Reems of Augusta, Bruce Reems of Plainfield, IN, and Stephen Reems (Laura) of Grovetown and their mother, Elisabeth Reems; Michelle Haynes (Jeff) of Douglasville, GA, and her mother, Dale Daniels; grandchildren: Brice and Haley Duckworth, Tyler, Jordan, and Shiloh Reems, and Michael Haynes; brother: Bob Reems and sisters: Barbara Owens and Patsy Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter Lewin Reems and Verna Roberson Reems; and his brothers: Bill and Ted Reems.
A memorial service with full military honors will be Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
