Shannon Fritsche

Following a valiant 6-year battle with colon cancer, Shannon Snowdy Fritsche entered eternal rest on Friday, September 1, 2023.  She is survived by her husband and soul mate, Adam R. Fritsche, parents, Pamela and Harry Snowdy, in-laws, Joan and Lowell Fritsche and sister-in-law Melissa Fritsche.

Upon graduation from Lakeside High School, Shannon continued her education and received her BS and teaching degree in Mathematics, from North Georgia College and State University. Subsequently, she earned a master’s degree in Math Education from Augusta University. For the past 10 years Shannon had been an instructor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of South Carolina-Aiken.  Mathematics was Shannon’s passion, as was evidenced by her unwavering desire to see her students succeed.  An active participant in the bell and choral choirs at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church for over 25 years, Shannon gave most generously of her time and talents. She not only chaperoned youth trips and served meals at GAP, but Shannon was also instrumental in building houses in Mexico, restoring damaged homes in Pascagoula, Mississippi, after Hurricane Katrina, and, on working in the medical clinics in Haiti. This gentle, kind soul strove to make life for others better.

Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2261 Walton Way Augusta, Georgia, will be hosting a Celebration of Life Service for Shannon on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11 am.
